Pushpa 2 is only for the fans of Allu Arjun, which Sukumar has made only for Allu Arjun. Although Allu Arjun is impressive but Fahadh Faasil seems more important than him, although Bhanwar Singh’s role is shown lightly. The screenplay and length of the film will make you think, ‘What is the need for it after all?’
Storyline
The movie opens in Japan’s Yokohama port, where Pushpa is now revealed to be a global red sandalwood dealer who has traveled to Japan to exact revenge. You get chills from the movie’s opening and appreciate Allu Arjun’s performance on screen, but even after seeing the whole movie, you won’t get why Pushpa felt the need to travel to Japan. The plot unexpectedly shifts to Chittoor, where the police officer Bhanwar Singh seeks to take revenge on Pushpa and destroy his group. Then, the race between Pushpa and Bhanwar Singh adds a little excitement to the movie, which makes you watch it speeding and raises your expectations.
Your expectations are shattered in the second half of the movie, just as they were raised in the first. The film’s hard line, which initiates the ego conflict between Pushpa and Bhanwar Singh, is the idea of making Sidappa the chief minister in the second half. Abruptly, the Bhanwar Singh chapter of the movie ends, and the narrative shifts to a new format. Pushpa’s attempt to bring her family together might be referred to as the third plot point of the movie. The Jataara scene, where Pushpa is shown in her saree, will also be shown to you.
Finally, the movie’s plot has reached its climactic point, hinting at Pushpa 3: The Rampage, the third edition of the film, which is also disclosed at the end of the movie and giving more information about this movie would be a spoiler. Overall, this movie is entertaining, but it also contains a lot of flaws that make you think.
Conclusion
Following the first installment of Pushpa, we were eagerly awaiting Pushpa 2, however this movie falls flat. Not sure why, but it appears that Sukumar has made Allu Arjun the focal point rather than the plot. The screenplay contains numerous errors that are noticeable after seeing the film. It is a little unexpected that there is no hint at all about the scene in which the movie opens from Japan. While the first half of the film is ending, The character of Fahadh Faasil is dies in the second half of the movie in a way that leaves you with many unanswered questions – Like, how is it possible for a very intelligent police officer to commit such a heinous act? Even though Fahadh appears stronger than Allu Arjun in several scenes, the way his character is written makes him appear hurt and easily defeated by Pushpa, which does not give Bhanwar Singh’s character justice.
Even if you will appreciate Allu Arjun’s presence in the scene, the story’s abrupt move in a different direction makes it unnecessary to display it in such a lengthy segment. As a film, the duration of the sequence is continuously growing. It looks like this section was created just to introduce the third part of the film; maybe Sukumar didn’t think of anything to include in the narrative that would introduce the third portion.
Allu Arjun does a fantastic job as an actor, and his big-screen presence is entertaining, but Fahadh Faasil is better than him in this film. Unfortunately, not much was done for Fahadh’s character, even though it feels fantastic to see him on screen repeatedly. Rashmika Mandanna’s role is very special for this film due to which the story of the film moves forward, she looks very strong in emotional scenes.
In terms of music, probably any song in the film would be worth listening to, the background theme music is quite impressive, however a lot of effort has been put into the choreography which is also visible in the song, and perhaps if these songs were not in this film then its length could have been much less, none of the songs have anything to do with the situation.
The action scenes of the film have no connection with physics or science, which do not seem realistic at all. It is also shown that Pushpa is killing so many people alone, even when both his hands and feet are tied, Pushpa cuts people with his teeth and throws them away. Through the river, trucks smuggle 2000 tons of red sandalwood and go out of Chittoor, which does not seem possible from anywhere, because not a single truck dips into the river, nor does it stop, nor does its speed slow down.
Last but not least, the film’s length has been forced, which is unnecessary; you will only appreciate it if you are an Allu Arjun fan and don’t care about the plot. You will only be let down if you are looking for the film’s plot and logic.
