Chhaava Review : Vicky Kaushal spectacular performance in this spectacular historical saga that no viewer should miss.

Chhaava looks at the story of Veer Sambha Ji Maharaj in which director Laxman Utekar has made excellent use of Vicky Kaushal's talent. However, the film does not give accurate information about the early phase of Sambha Ji Maharaj's life, and the background details of many characters are not explained properly. But Looking at Vicky, it really feels as if you are seeing Sambha Ji Maharaj in person.

Storyline

After the death of Chatrapati Shiva Ji Maharaj, Mughal emperor Aurangjeb feels that now the end of Maratha empire is near, and Mughals are celebrating that now Deccan is no longer under their control. Then suddenly Burhanpur, the trading center of the Mughal Empire, is attacked by Sambha Ji and his army, actually the war between Aurangjeb and Sambhaji starts from here. After the siege of Burhanpur, Aurangzeb puts his army in search of Sambhaji, for which the Mughal army moves forward causing destruction everywhere.

Then as it is said in history that great intellectuals fear their own people more than the outside, here too Sambhaji’s own relatives help Aurangjeb by betraying him. Because of which Aurangzeb succeeds in capturing Sambhaji, he feels defeated even in his victory and regrets it.

Conclusion

Although the director of Hindi cinema has taken very little risk of making a film on the battle of history, but Laxman Utekar has shown it completely right, the horror of war has been shown in a much better way. He has shown the character of Aurangjeb very well which is praiseworthy, he has made better use of Vicky Kaushal’s energy in the character of Sambhaji. He has been very successful in explaining the true meaning of Swarajya, watching which makes you feel both proud and sad. The dialogues of the film will leave you stunned and at the same time touch your heart.

However, there seems to be little detailing in the film whose face makes it a little difficult to understand the characters, like no detail is given about Sambhaji’s step brother Rajaram and no information is given about the initial phase of Sambhaji’s life. The first half of the film loses its pace but the second half of the film is equally brave and heart-warming, especially after the arrest of Sambhaji, the atrocities that are committed on him make feel both proud and sad. The dialogue between Sambhaji Maharaj and the poet in the climax of the film fills the heart.

On the acting side, Vicky Kaushal and Akshay Khanna, who played the lead roles in the film, have hit a different level, on one hand, Vicky has given his performance with full intensity in the combat fight scenes, looking at him one feels like Sambhaji Maharaj. On the other hand, Akshay Khanna has played the role of an old and quiet but murderous Mughal emperor very well. Rashmika Mandana has also played her share of emotional scenes well, but it is more fun to see Vineet Singh of Mukkabaz fame who has been quite underrated in Bollywood. Vineet plays the important role of Kavi Kalash who is an expert poet and remains with Sambhaji till his last moments. All the other characters are small but effective and do not disappoint you at all.

To better understand the personality of Sambhaji, you should definitely watch this film, and especially for the performance of Vicky Kaushal.

digital partner of this film is Netflix but You must watch this film in theatre.
