Carry-On is a thriller film made in proper old style in which the main character has to finish a task in a given time. You will definitely like this original film of Netflix, although its beginning is quite slow but it will not disappoint you when you come to the end of the film.
Storyline
The film centers on Ethan Kopek, a security guard at an airport who aspires to join the Los Angeles Police Department but is compelled to work as a guard. Ethan Kopek and his fiancée Nora are leading a happy life together, and soon he will experience the joy of fatherhood. However, as is often the case with children, a father’s obligations increase significantly, which is major concern for both Ethan and Nora.
As a security guard, he has more responsibility for airport security, so even on Christmas Eve, Kopek had to go to his job, but he had no idea that this would be one of the few bad days of his life. That day suddenly his duty has shifted to a different place from normal days where he has to prove himself by his actions. A strange story starts from the here, Ethan gets some instructions from a third person, which Ethan has to fulfill in any way or else he and his girlfriend’s life can be in danger.
There are a lot of twists and turns in this film, and how Ethan deal with the situation, which makes the film quite tense and thrilling.
Conclusion
Overall this will be one of the better movies on Netflix, but its age makes it a little predictive. What seems like a rough idea of your story at first, but despite this, the twists in the film do not disappoint you. Everyone’s performance is equal in terms of acting, but Taron Egerton and Jason Bateman give each other some competition. We have mostly seen Jason Bateman in comedy films, with this film he seems to have completely broken his image, although his screen presence is quite less. Taron Egerton, on the other hand, also impresses, where the tension of the film is clearly visible in his expressions. Sofia Carson’s character is that of a girlfriend who is very supportive of her boyfriend, and wants to see him happy, this character in the film is shown as Ethan’s weakness.
Although this is a thriller film but your expectation of more action scenes may disappoint you, but the scene of a car crash is shown so well that you will not stop praising the director. This is how these scenes can make the film better and more appealing. From story point of view, the film is a bit slow in the beginning whose face may not interest you that much, but once the conversation between the Ethan and an unknown traveler starts, from there the film becomes interesting and keeps you captivated till the end. You won’t see much sight in this film, but still you won’t be disappointed.
