Parachute - This series is the story of the relationship between father and children which warms your heart, along with this the director Sridhar K. has also mixed a little thriller in the story which keeps you engaged till the last episode. The series never lets you get bored and shows the same story from different aspects, which keeps the series interesting.
Storyline
Parachute is the tale of a lower middle class family, whose two children are Varun and Rudhra, and whose father Shanmugam works hard to support his family. Although Rudhra is the youngest member of the family, she excels in her academics, receives high grades, and is the family’s favorite. Varun, however, must deal with his father’s ire and doesn’t seem to be particularly exceptional in his academic performance. Varun, being the elder brother, takes full care of Rudra and tries to fulfill his smallest wishes.
Shanmugam, as a father, believe in children should be raised in strict hands because it will benefit them in the long run and that they require discipline more than love, but his strictness prevent Varun from sharing anything with his parents, which has caused a communication breakdown between the two. Meanwhile one day suddenly Rudhra asks Varun to go somewhere outside on the day of her birthday, being an elder brother Varun also wants to fulfill this wish of Rudhra. Somehow Varun manages to get the keys to his father’s bike and both the kids go for a ride on the bike, not knowing what is going to happen with them.
This incident that happened as a child has thrown them into a different struggle, and due to his father’s angry face, Varun cannot tell this problem to his father. From here the story takes many turns and ends in a very different way, and Shanmugam also gets embarrassed due to his face and by the end of the series, he becomes a changed father.
Conclusion
This series is unique in that it is heartwarming and innocent, and Iyal’s portrayal of Rudhra in particular makes it enjoyable to watch repeatedly. It is really admirable to provide this kind of performance at such a young age. In the poignant sequences, Shakthi Rithvik, who portrays Varun, looks incredibly strong and makes you cry. Kishore, who plays the role of Shanmugam, suits the character of a harsh father and succeeds in showing the father-son relationship in a wonderful manner. All the other actors also did full justice to their characters and did not disappoint performance wise.
