Citadel – Honey Bunny, A good SPY action thriller but missing RAJ and DK’s spark.

Citadel – Honey Bunny is a collaboration of RAJ & DK with the Russo brothers will make you want to watch this series, although you will get to see it in some of its action sequences, but the level of the Indian version of Citadel Franchise could have been even higher.

Storyline

This is a spy action thriller series in which Varun Dhawan plays the role of a stuntman whose name is Bunny, but on the other hand bunny also works for a spy agency, whose boss is Vishwa (K. K. Menon). On the other hand, Honey (Samantha Ruth) is a struggling actress who wants to make her name in Bollywood but despite many efforts she does not succeed. Seeing Honey’s condition, Bunny convinces her to do a job for his agency for which Honey also gets paid well. On Bunny’s request, Vishwa agrees to join Honey in the agency and Honey’s training starts. During training, Honey and Bunny become closer to each other and a bond develops between them. Amidst all this they learn about their next mission in Belgrade where they have to recover a device from a scientist.

Conclusion

As a spy thriller series, this series completely entertains you but it also has some shortcomings which you cannot ignore. This collaboration of Russo brothers and Raj & DK disappoints you on some points, this series seems weak in terms of screenplay. Although the story is well told in two different timelines, but there are a lot of loose ends in the series that could be better explained. Action and camera work of this series impresses you a lot, in the first episode of the series, there is a combat scene in Samantha fighting in a moving car, after watching which you will remember the extraction, then the climax of the series is also quite explosive which is a one take shot, You will not get tired of praising the camera man.

Since this is an action series, nothing gets more attention than the acting aspect, K. K. Menon looks great as always. Varun and Samantha have performed well in their respective scenes, but Samantha’s combat fighting skills really impress you, as her hard work is clearly visible. The members of Varun’s spy team have played their roles well, although their parts were not much, yet they have made their presence felt in the series. In the end, Nadia (Kashvi Majmundar) has got full marks in acting, who forces you to think with her acting skills at such a young age, she has played the role of a girl who is completely ready for any situation.

Positive
  • Combat Action scenes.
  • Nadia’s performance.
  • Camera work in action scenes.
