Stree 2 – succeeds in making you laugh as well as scaring you.

Stree 2 completely succeeds in making you laugh and scare you. Amar Kaushik seems to be completely successful in his attempt to become a horror comedy universe in Bollywood. You will get to see excellent timing of comedy and a dash of horror in this film. Its background music takes the horror scenes to a different level.

Storyline

Taking forward the story of the previous part of the film, Amar Kaushik brings you Chanderi. Now the woman is gone from the world, and all the people are living in peace, but suddenly with her departure someone else gets a chance to come into Chanderi. Which people know as Sirkata (Headless), and which is targeting only those women who have modern thoughts and are moving forward with today’s world.

Now only Chanderi’s protector i.e. Vicky can save Chanderi from Sirkata’s terror. Vicky who is still lost in the love of ghost, and is living his life happily with his friend Bittu. Suddenly one night something happens that an atmosphere of fear spreads throughout the Chanderi. Rudra has already been warned about this through a letter but he does not pay attention to it. Now the entire Chanderi is busy dealing with the terror of this Sirkata, along with which you also get a dose of comedy.

Conclusion

Watching this film, it feels like Amar Kaushik has successfully established himself in the horror comedy genre. What makes this film special is its background music and its comic timing but the VFX has done a great job and this film impresses you a lot with its looks. Rajkumar Rao is like the previous part, this time too he looks simple and straightforward, but fails to make you look perfect. Pankaj Tripathi also shows excellent timing in pure Hindi, which makes you laugh. Abhishek Banarjee has showcased his talent to the fullest, on one hand he has played the role of a ruthless villain in Vedaa and on the other hand he has shown his comedy skills in the film. And it may be a coincidence that both the films have been released together. Shraddha Kapoor’s role is also very special in the film although she has got little screentime in the film. But in whatever screen time her beauty fails to charm you.

The USP of this film is its background score and its VFX and finally its comic timing. In the field of VFX, a lot of good work has been done in this film, the way the scenes are shown, you really start feeling impressed after seeing them. Like the insects crawling on his height and his share, looking at his protruding bones and muscles, you start feeling like a ghost. Despite being fake, the ghost seems real to you because of the VFX. Because of the comic timing, tears start forming in your eyes and along with that you also get scared.

You should enjoy this film while watching it in the theatre, but definitely not with children. This week of August has got a very good start for Bollywood because both Vedaa and Street 2 are one of the best films of their genre, one of which makes you laugh and the other makes you think. You will also get to see some cameos that will make you excited.
